Frequently Asked Questions
QR codes can store URLs, text, contact info (vCard), WiFi credentials, email addresses, phone numbers, SMS messages, calendar events, and more. Maximum capacity is about 3,000 characters for text or 7,000 digits.
Static QR codes never expire - the data is encoded in the pattern itself. Dynamic QR codes (which redirect through a service) may expire if the service is discontinued. Our generated codes are static and permanent.
Minimum 2×2 cm (0.8×0.8 inches) for close scanning. For posters, use at least 10×10 cm. Rule of thumb: QR code width should be 1/10th of the scanning distance. A billboard needs a much larger code than a business card.
Error correction allows QR codes to work even when partially damaged. Level L recovers 7%, M recovers 15%, Q recovers 25%, and H recovers 30% of data. Higher levels mean larger codes but more durability.
